Generative AI for Reviewer
This guideline explains the expectations for reviewers of Jurnal Pengabdian Olahraga Masyarakat (JPOM) regarding generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies during peer review. It is aligned with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Confidentiality
- Manuscripts sent for review are confidential. Reviewers must not upload a manuscript, or any part of it, into generative AI tools.
- Reviewers must not upload their review report into AI tools either, as the report may contain confidential information about the manuscript or its authors.
2. Writing the Review
- Peer review requires critical thinking, expertise, and original assessment that only a human reviewer can provide. Generative AI must not be used to assess the manuscript or to generate the review report.
- Reviewers are fully responsible and accountable for the content of their review reports.
- Basic spelling and grammar checkers that do not store or share content may be used to polish the wording of the reviewer's own text.
3. Reporting Suspected AI Misuse
If a reviewer suspects that a manuscript contains undisclosed or inappropriate AI-generated content (e.g., fabricated references, data, or images), the reviewer should inform the handling editor through the review form, explaining the reasons for the concern.
