Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan (JMP) are evaluated through a double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the process.
Review stages
- Initial screening — the editor checks the manuscript's fit with the Focus and Scope, compliance with the Author Guidelines and template, and similarity using Turnitin (see Screening for Plagiarism). Manuscripts that do not pass this stage are returned to the author or rejected without review.
- Peer review — manuscripts that pass screening are sent to one reviewer with expertise in the topic. The reviewer assesses originality, relevance, methodological soundness, clarity of results and discussion, and the quality of references.
- Editorial decision — based on the reviewer's recommendation, the editor decides to accept, request minor revisions, request major revisions, or reject. If needed, the editor may invite an additional reviewer.
- Revision — authors revise the manuscript and submit a response to each reviewer comment. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewer for a further round.
- Final acceptance and production — accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout, proofreading by the author, and publication.
Timeline
The review process normally takes about 4–8 weeks from submission to the first decision, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revision required. The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
