Publication Ethics
PUBLICATION ETHICS
Educational Management Journal
Educational Management Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. This statement outlines ethical guidelines for all parties involved in the publishing process, including editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher. This publication ethics statement follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
A. Duties of Editors
- Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on the validity of the work, its relevance to the journal’s scope, and the results of the peer-review process. - Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. - Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, or the publisher. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
B. Duties of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. - Promptness
Reviewers who feel unqualified or unable to review the manuscript promptly should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process. - Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorization from the editor. - Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate, and reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. - Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap with other published works. - Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions involved.
C. Duties of Authors
- Reporting Standards
Authors should present accurate, original, and objective accounts of their research. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior. - Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper citation must be provided for the work and ideas of others. - Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript or substantially similar content to more than one journal at the same time. - Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. - Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript. - Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When authors discover significant errors in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
D. Duties of the Publisher
The publisher of Educational Management Journal is committed to:
- Ensuring editorial independence,
- Supporting ethical publishing practices,
