Author Guidelines

Online Submission

  1. Authors must first register to submit a manuscript.
  2. Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts electronically by using the online submission and review site (http://journal.upgris.ac.id/index.php/allure/user/register). This site will guide authors through the five-step submission process. Submissions that do not adhere to this procedure WILL NOT be considered for the review process.
  3. The authors' name must not appear in the manuscript itself for the blind review. Replacing author's name/s with 'Author/s' where necessary will be done by the editor of Allure Journal.
  4. Authors are required to conform to the reference as given in if they want their manuscripts to be considered for publication.
  5. Authors should attach an ethical statement when they submit their manuscript through the "Upload Supplementary Files" menu. The manuscript cannot exceed a 20% similarity score (references excluded) or automatically rejected. Authors are to check manuscripts for plagiarism before submitting to the journal as well as Editor-in-chief will do the plagiarism screening using Turnitin.
  6. Manuscripts submitted to ALLURE Journal go through an internal review and if they meet the basic requirements, they are sent out for double blind review from experts in the field, either from the editorial board or identified reviewers. Comments from the external reviewers are sent to the authors and they are notified of the journal™ decision (accept, accept with revisions, reject). This entire review process will take at least 2 months before the publication. Authors are advised to submit at manuscript within that time period. The editor’s decision is final.
  7. We do not encourage multiple submissions. An author may publish ONLY in alternate issues of ALLURE Journal. The rule remains in case of co-authorship.

General Rules

  1. Allure Journal is a blind peer-reviewed electronic journal.
  2. Manuscripts must align with the mission and purpose of Allure Journal.
  3. Manuscripts must be submitted through Online Journal System   of Allure Journal.
  4. Manuscripts are about  applied linguistics, linguistics, and literature.
  5. Manuscripts must be in English, 4000 “ 7000 words, the length of the manuscript approximately 12 “ 20 pages (including references) saved as Word Document (.doc/.docx); A4 paper, Font: Times New Roman. (download template).
  6. The abstract should be prepared in English, single-spaced, and not exceed 250 words.
  7. The abstract should state (a) the purpose of the study, (b) basic procedures in the study, (c) results and discussion, and (d) principal conclusions.
  8. Manuscripts should be organized under suitable headings.
  9. Manuscript content should be organized in the following order: title, name of author and affiliation, abstract and keywords, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion and recommendation, acknowledgment, and references.

Paper Title

The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific, and complete. The title should not be more than 20 words.

Author™ Name(s) and Affiliation(s)

  1. Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names.
  2. Write clear affiliation of all Authors. Affiliation includes: name of department, university, city, country.

Abstract and Keywords

  1. The abstract should stand alone, meaning no citation in the abstract. Please follow the word limitation (do not exceed 250 words).
  2. The abstract includes the introduction, objective of the papers, method, results and discussion, and conclusion including novelty of the study.
  3. Below the abstract, about three to five keywords should appear together with the main body of the manuscripts with the font size 10. Each word/phrase in keyword should be separated by a semicolon (;), not a comma (,). They should be alphabetic order. Please be mindful of the SDGs' (Sustainable Development Goals) keywords.  (SDGs references:  https://sdgs.bappenas.go.id/sekilas-sdgs/) 
  4. The abstract and Keywords should be Italics. 

Introduction

Authors should state the objectives of the work at the end of the introduction section. Before the objective, authors should provide an adequate background, and literature review in order to record the existing solutions/method, to show which is the best of previous researches, to show the main limitation of the previous researches, to show what do you hope to achieve (to solve the limitation), and to show the scientific merit or novelties of the paper. Introduction must include literature review which provides a critical analysis and summary of existing research on a particular topic or subject. It involves an in-depth examination and evaluation of academic articles, books, and other published materials related to the chosen topic. It also accommodates a review of previous studies to provide a context for the current study and to identify any gaps or limitations in existing research.

Methodology

Methodology refers to the set of principles, procedures, and techniques that are used to conduct research and to gather and analyze data. It includes the overall approach to the study, as well as the specific methods and techniques used to collect and analyze data. It also provides a research project that typically includes a detailed description of the research design, sampling procedures, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques. It should be designed to address the research questions or hypotheses and to provide reliable and valid results.

Result and Discussion

  1. Result should be clear and concise. The Result should summarize (scientific) findings. Please highlight differences between your results and the previous publications by other researchers.
  2. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Make the discussion corresponding to the results, but do not reiterate the results. It should begin with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not experimental results).

Conclusion and Recommendation

  1. Conclusion should answer the objectives of research. Tells how your work advances the field from the present state of knowledge. Do not repeat the Abstract, or just list experimental results. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work, and indicate possible applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or point out those that are underway.
  2. Recommendation is suggestion or proposal for actions that can be taken based on the findings of a study or research project. It intends  to inform decision-making and guide future research or practices as well as to  consider the implications of the findings for relevant stakeholders. It should be specific, actionable, and feasible, taking into account any limitations or constraints.

Acknowledgement (optional)

Recognize those who helped in the research, especially funding supporter of your research. Include individuals who have assisted you in your study: Advisors, Financial supporters, or may other supporter i.e. Proof-readers, Typists, and Suppliers who may have given materials.

Avoid identifying any of the authors prior to the review. Replace instances where the name of authors appears with author™. 

Acknowledgement should be Italics. 

References

Cite the main scientific publications on which your work is based. Cite only items that you have read. Avoid excessive self-citations. Avoid excessive citations of publications from the same region. Check each reference against the original source (authors' name, volume, issue, year, DOI Number). Every source cited in the body of the article should appear in the reference, and all sources appearing in the reference should be cited in the body of the article. References used by each author are at least 20 references. The sources cited should at least 80% come from those published in the last 10 years. The sources cited are primary sources in the forms of journal articles, books, and research reports, including theses and dissertations. Citations from journal should be at least 80% of the total references cited. Finally, quotations and references follow APA style.
