Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the difference in the average numeracy ability of students taught by the Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by the ethnostatics e-module based on ethnomathematics with the direct learning model, and to determine the increase in students' numeracy ability before and after being taught using the AIR learning model assisted by ethnomathematics-based e-module. The research method used is quantitative, with a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Wedarijaksa. The population of this study was 286 students. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely classes VIII-A and VIII-C. Data analysis techniques used normality tests, homogeneity tests, N-Gain tests and Mann Whitney tests. Based on the results of the posttest of numeracy ability, it was found that the average value of numeracy ability of experimental class students who were given treatment using the AIR model assisted by ethnostatics e-module based on ethnomathematics was 81.45, higher than that of control class students who were given treatment using the direct learning model of 80.73, so it can be concluded that the average numeracy ability of students who were taught the AIR learning model assisted by ethnostatics e-module was better than that of students who were taught the direct learning model.
