Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the POE2WE (Prediction, Observation, Explanation, Elaboration, Write, Evaluation) model based on Educaplay web in learning to read persuasive speech texts for eighth grade students of SMP Nurul Ulum Semarang. The POE2WE model combined with Educaplay media is used to increase student engagement and understanding, particularly by providing interactive and multimedia resources that enhance the learning experience for eighth grade students. Data collection techniques in this study are test and non-test techniques. The test technique is used to measure reading skills for persuasive speech texts, while non-test techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which is implemented in two cycles. The research subjects are one class consisting of 33 students. Data analysis is carried out descriptively and qualitatively to describe the process of implementing the learning model. The results of the study indicate that the application of the POE2WE model based on Educaplay web can improve persuasive speech text reading skills, indicated by an increase in student learning outcomes with an average value of 87.4 in cycle II.
